I always loved watching my husband with our kids. He wrestles, plays, and rough-houses with our girls in the most fun and gentle way that a daddy can. Their favorite thing that he did when they were little was throw them in the air and catch them. As they squealed with delight (and maybe a little fright), they would say “Do it again, Daddy!” or simply “Again!”. They were able to request repetition from an early age. Even in sign language! Whatever it was they experienced was amazing to them and they wanted more.
In the Bible we see the Isrealites getting to see God do amazing things with them and for them. The parting of the Red Sea, water from a rock, manna from heaven, the serpent on the staff, the cloud by day and fire by night, the walls of Jericho, and so much more. And the Isrealites are known for wanting more out of God (sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a not-so-good way).
We get to do the same thing today with God. We can delight in the things he does for us. Amazing things that make us want to say “Do it again, God!”.
Healing loved ones
Bringing prodigals home
Creating new life
Painting a sunset or sunrise that seems like it is just for us
Giving us the gift of anther day
The check that shows up in the mail just in time
Rain for crops
A person that walks into our life and changes everything for the good
Salvation
The list goes on and on….
What could you add to this list of blessings and miracles from your own life?
God is so amazing and loving and enjoys giving us good things as a perfect father. Revel in his love today. Notice the little blessings and thank him for them. Then ask him “Do it again, God!”.
Heavenly Father, you are so good to us. We love you so much. Thank you for all the amazing things that you do for us every day. Please open our eyes and hearts to see these miracles big and small each day so we can remember your love and care for us.
